It's About Time!!!!

Looks like our friend *The New Ben* finally got his act together and got Moveable Type working for his website. (Click on image to open website in new link) Seeing from my previous post, it took him quite a while to figure this thing out. Now, remember, he is a colleague of me. Yes, so I see him every day in the office. And you know what? He asks me about the dang thing every day: “Chris, how do you do this?

Stinky Bathrooms in China - Discussions During Lunch

Have you ever been interviewed about the quality of public restrooms in a city? How about during lunch… We were today. It started out like this: I was minding my own business… then the other guys decided to go to lunch (like most days). We decided to go to the classic Golden Elephant. The new Ben was chatting on his mobile phone with a friend of his who works for a radio station in Indonesia as we were leaving the office.

Weekend Stuff

**Power Outage** Our office building decided to turn off the power on Friday night and Sunday night to do maintenance or something. These outages caused the machine this website is hosted on to go down - the machine **still** isn’t on a UPS. I’m working on it. **Elevators in China** I was at a department store with Melanie on Sunday to have Hotpot for lunch. Following that, we took the elevator to go to the ground floor to leave the building.

Fun with VoIP: Skype!

I decided to take the plunge into Skype and I am quite impressed. I called my parents in Hungary yesterday (haven’t spoken to them by phone for a few months) and the quality was surprisingly good. (I had to buy some SkypeOut credits so I could call their home phone, but at 3.3 cents euro/minute, I didn’t hesitate). If you want to call me, click below:

Screw the Google Bar

…for now. A colleague of mine (the new Ben) introduced me to [A9](http://www.a9.com), a service from Amazon. Pretty neat, actually. As a Google fan, I was extremely pessimistic. But, it is really neat! Not just pretty neat, as I said before. A9 has a [toolbar](http://toolbar.a9.com) for Firefox (a real one, just a 3rd party extension). It keeps a history of your searches, and of the sites you went to. You can store bookmarks and use them on other machines.
