Brief Update

Work here in the US is busy - working pretty much full days in the office, then going to the hotel room, after getting a bit to eat, working with the team in Beijing. I am getting towards the end here, I will be leaving Michigan on Saturday afternoon for Beijing. I have liked being here, but I think I am ready to go back. **Tidbits:** - Went to an NBA Basketball game on monday of this week (Detroit Pistons vs Dallas Mavricks).

In the U.S.

It is nice being in the States. Here are some notes: - Got a rental car. 16 days cost be around $330 with taxes - BUT, because i am under 25, they tacked on another $25 PER DAY. bastards - It apears American Express is outsourcing (a part of) their call center to India - had to activate a new card, got an Indian on the line that needed to work on her accent.

Random stuff

It has been more than a week since I bought my PowerBook. I must tell you, it’s a really nice machine. Some notes: - This evening I am going to install [Growl](http://growl.info/) for notifications. Will let you know what I think. - Also this evening, I will install [Virtue](http://virtuedesktops.sourceforge.net/index.html) for virtual desktop support, something MacOSX should have come with! Gnome and KDE users rejoyce. - Met a fellow Beijing Linux User Group member (actually the VP, I think) yesterday during brunch at a [usual spot](http://www.

Lovely Singapore

Hello everyone, It has been a while since I last posted, mainly because I have been on vacation in Singapore. It is Monday, we return to cold Beijing tomorrow evening (around midnight Tuesday). While here, I have taken the plunge into the Mac world by purchasing a new [Powerbook 12inch](http://www.apple.com/powerbook/index12.html) laptop. :-) A few major points that have influenced my decision to buy: 1. New model available 2. Tax free in Singapore for visitors (me) 3.

Do I have a problem?

Do I have a problem? This is what my current tabs look like in firefox: Yes, that is 10 apple pages open at once. The recent release of the upgraded PowerBooks have caused me to once again concentrate my free-time browsing away from the dell site and back to the Apple site. Ahem. Going to Singapore this Friday. Maybe I will return to beijing with a Powerbook.
