Sorry, has been a while since my last post. Last week we had a holiday - one of the three “Golden Weeks” here in China - where we have 7 straight days off. That sounds nice to the untrained eye, but stop for one moment. Take a step back. Lets analyze this for a minute. 7 days off. hmm, 2 days are a weekend. Ok, so 5 *real* days off. No, no, we have to make up 2 of the days during the weekend before or after the holiday.
Found this [neat link](http://assortedgeekery.com/archives/2005/04/20/tiger) about new features / oddities in the new release of Apple’s OS - OS X tiger. Will I buy Tiger? Probably. It gets released this Friday, April 29. I will most likely go to Hong Kong late May, so I will probably buy it there. If I don’t go, I might go back to Singapore in July, and I will definitely buy it there. The feature I am looking forward to most is the [Dashboard](http://www.
Apple released their [Fiscal Q2 results](http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2005/apr/13results.html). They said in the quarter, they shipped 1,070,000 Macs and 5,311,000 iPods. I am a statistic for both. Yee haw. Too bad I don’t own Apple stock. Oh well…
I bought a new phone. A bit early (I wanted to keep the Nokia in operation for at least 2 years), but oh well. Most everyone (business people) in the US have [Blackberrys](http://www.blackberry.com). This allows them to get their company email on their device anytime, anywhere. I soooo wanted one. Oliver (aka The New Ben) was testing an application called [Smartner Duality](http://www.smartner.com/products/index.html). This is an application that sits on your PC (Professional Edition), and connects to your company’s Exchange server.
Things are getting exciting in the world of Outsourcing to China. The company is growing! Of course, it means an increase in workload and stress levels, but I think this is to be expected - it is a good stress. I’ll be going through three days of CMMI training starting tomorrow, Thursday. Should be interesting - my company is planning to go thorough CMMI 3 assessment by the end of calendar year.
I was almost a victim of Road Rage yesterday, Sunday. My girlfriend and I were mind our own business riding around the streets of Beijing in my motorbike in the afternoon. I was stuck in a lane with a bunch of cars, but the lane next to mine was empty. I made the quick decision to switch lanes (to my right), while doing this, i noticed a car right behind me was also making the same move.
