Interesting place, to say the least. Also went on a ~3 day road trip south-west to Jaipur, and then east to Agra. The Taj was the highlight.
I, like many visitors, got sick one of the days - no idea what I ate to cause it….
Amateurs. They’re all a bunch on Amateurs! Payment not being processed. After receiving no response to 3 emails over the past week, and with a “window” quickly closing (the time my parents are in the U.S. [they would receive the package and then hand carry it to China]), I decided to cancel. Let’s see if these guys respond to my cancellation email. For your information, the eBay Seller I attempted to buy from goes by the name of johnnybarakat.
I am convinced the U.S. banking industry is garbage. I am using my Bank of America credit card for this phone purchase on eBay. It turns out, my little “clever” trick I pulled (described in my previous post) was flagged as potential fraud. So, of course the purchase was put on hold. I get an email from the eBay purchaser saying the payment didn’t go through. I tried to log onto my BoA account, they sent me to this webpage to confirm my previous charges, the eBay purchase was flagged as suspicious.
I bought a new phone on U.S. eBay. The HTC S710 Vox. Not available yet in Asia, even though HTC is a freaken Taiwanese company. Why did I buy it? Here are the reasons:
My current phone is just about a year old now. It’s on life support… This is a cool phone I like getting email on my phone, I like pain. The RMB-USD exchange rate makes sense… My parents happen to be in the U.
Yikes, it’s been over 3 weeks since my last post. Here’s an update. 1. I’m going to India on the 30th of April to visit my woman, Melanie. New Delhi, for those of you interested of where exactly I am going. I hear it will be warm. Very warm. 2. My new computer is running o.k. Vista is kind of weird - i still haven’t really figured out how to use it “properly”… Buggy, need to reboot every so often.
New Job Well, It’s been 2+ weeks now at my new job with Siemens. For those of you who don’t know, I am responsible for Business Continuity Planning for Siemens China - a small organization of about ~70 companies and 20,000 employees. What is Business Continuity Planning (BCP), you ask? Well, my first answer is to read the link I just provided in the previous sentence. (Hey, if you can’t read that link because it is blocked in China, go here) My second answer is, well, I’m new at it, so I only have an idea of what it is - but a big part of it is learning how to do it specific to the organization - as there isn’t a cookie cutter approach you can take from organization to organization.
