An update to my previous post, I think I am going to go and get the Sony Ericsson k810, ignoring the stupid “C” button that i have complained about in the past. This is the phone I was thinking about getting last month but then decided to wait for HTC’s new phone announcement (which was a disapointment) and Sony Ericsson’s new phone announcement - which is exciting, but too long to wait!
I was having dinner last night with a good friend (for story completeness, we’ll call him “Steve”) in a classic Xinjiang Chuan joint inside the 2nd ring road. It has actually been a while since we’ve been there (well, me at least). “Steve” and I use to go there quite often in the old days (3 years ago). I was actually surprised it was still there! I took the liberty to make a little sketch of the situation in the hopes it will aid in explaining the situation.
As some of you might know, the ticket lottery system started maybe a month ago. This is where people, only legal residents of the Chinese mainland (sorry folks from HK, Macau, and Taiwan) can sign up for events they would like, and then they will be awarded tickets later. Its a game of change. Feels like I’m in Vegas. Or maybe Macau. For most events, you’re able to select a maximum number of tickets per event (4 or 6 or 8, whatever it may be), and presumably the tickets, should you be awarded them, would be adjacent to one another.
I am currently running 2.0.x, will upgrade to 2.2.x now. Using Dreamhost’s auto-upgrade feature. Hope it doesn’t break…. Update: No, I’m not. I just realized I’ll have to reinstall the plug-ins and all that crap. I’ll do that this weekend or sometime.
Thanks to those of you who wished me a Happy Birthday. Those of you who didn’t, well… That’s not very nice, is it? ;-) What did I do for my Birthday? Well, it was on a Thursday, and I went home and pretty much played Guitar Hero II for several hours. That game rocks. Literally! Having a thingy tonight with some friends - I am sure it will be a long night.
I am in Singapore for the rest of the week to attend a regional BCP conference at Siemens. Singapore is so nice ;-) I return to Beijing Sunday afternoon.
