Google’s new mobile client for Google Maps, Google Maps Mobile, is pretty sweet. It’s now native on the S60v3 devices (whcih my N95 has). It also has a pretty neat feature called “My Location”. Now, with the N95’s internal GPS turned on, it will show you pretty darnd acurately where you are on the map (or satellite image). If you don’t have GPS (or turn it off), then it will, using the cell towers, give you a chabuduo (translate: close-enough) location.
You remember when this happened way back in January 2006? A section of the 3rd ring road side street sank causing major traffic problems for several days. Well, it happened again, but this time closer to my home, and near the “old SOHO” complex - an area quickly becoming engolfed by the central business district. (i.e. it’s developing at a very rapid pace). The slightly scary, or worrying, part of this is I drive on this very road quite often.

Thanks to my colleagues at work for suggesting, I have started using a new theme called Mandigo. This replaces K2 which I found to be buggy and a bit boring / over-used. I also upgraded Wordpress to the newest version, 2.3.1. The changes are a work in progress - I’ll be tinkering with things over the next several weeks. Sorry if I break something…
Remember the trouble I went through to get my Pumpkin Pie supplies on Wednesday? It was totally worth it. My pie won “Tastiest Dish”. And my last-minute vegetables? Because I took a seemingly boring food and made it tasty, it won “Pleasant Surprise”. How do you like them apples pumpkins? I want to give special thanks to Melanie for helping when needed and putting up with my high levels of lack-of-time-induced stress.
Folks, I’ll be upgrading this site in the next few days to the newest version of Wordpress. I’ll probably also change the theme as K2 seems to have quite a bit of scripting issues…. Those of you who use IE (shame on you) have probably noticed some odd problems with the site…
