**Power Outage** Our office building decided to turn off the power on Friday night and Sunday night to do maintenance or something. These outages caused the machine this website is hosted on to go down - the machine **still** isn’t on a UPS. I’m working on it. **Elevators in China** I was at a department store with Melanie on Sunday to have Hotpot for lunch. Following that, we took the elevator to go to the ground floor to leave the building. Besides the usual pushing and shoving to get on the elevator, we found ourselves packed in like sardines and the “too heavy” alarm went off. For the first 10 seconds, no one did anything. We weren’t the last people on, so I wasn’t about to get off. The guy who was the last to get on was in front of me and just held his head down low. The guy behind me was kind of taping my lower back as if he wanted me, the loan foreigner in the elevator, to get off. No. Don’t think so. The good thing is, I can provide a little comentary (like verbally stating the guy with his head down low, the guy is tapping me, this woman smells, etc.) without the fear of offending someone. If someone does understand, oh well. Eventually, two people decided to be selfless and exit the elevator.
