Screw the Google Bar

…for now. A colleague of mine (the new Ben) introduced me to [A9](http://www.a9.com), a service from Amazon. Pretty neat, actually. As a Google fan, I was extremely pessimistic. But, it is really neat! Not just pretty neat, as I said before. A9 has a [toolbar](http://toolbar.a9.com) for Firefox (a real one, just a 3rd party extension). It keeps a history of your searches, and of the sites you went to. You can store bookmarks and use them on other machines. And best of all, the search uses Google for the results. Until Google gets their act together, i’ll be using this one. Unfortunately, A9 search doesn’t have integrated support for Google Desktop, so I’ll still have to open up another tab for that.
