This weekend was a good

This weekend was a good weekend. Friday I went to a “house party” of a friend of a friend. Was pretty fun, (although I am not drinking this month, so… yeah…). Saturday, I went with Ali and Satish to buy speakers. Originally, I wanted to get standard PC speakers, nothing that would cost more than $50. Well…. that changed when I saw the selection. We went to a computer market called “Bai Nau Hui”. We went to a speaker shop and Ali showed me the speakers he was looking at before. I immediately wanted them. Here is a link to the speaker information: Microlab X-5. It is a 5.1 system featuring 5 speaker units (each having 2 speakers), and a pretty large subwoofer. Yeah, Derek, sorry, I don’t have all the technical details of it, but, they sound nice. They originally quoted us 1500 RMB a piece. Ali used his bargaining skills to get it down to 1150 RMB a piece (provided both of us would buy). Yes, it isn’t a Bose system, but it is pretty decent for the price, I think. Sunday I went to the Temple of Heaven with a friend. I haven’t been there since 1996 or so, and I haven’t done the “tourist thing” for a while, so it was fun. We were asked to take a photo of two Australian tourists who were grateful that we could speak English - they find it hard to find anyone that speaks English here in Beijing. I don’t…. Well, I guess that is about it. It is Monday now (luckily it is almost over), 4 more days of work.
