Day 5 in Beijing. Matt

Day 5 in Beijing. Matt and Sid left this morning for the US. I have temporarily moved into the guest bedroom of my boss’s apartment while I look for apartments. This morning, I went for my physical which is required for all foreigners who want to get a work permit. I had to go to a Chinese hospital (hopefully I did not get SARS - we will find out in 2 - 12 days). Work is getting interesting (even though I am technically not employeed yet). We are bidding for a project with a fairly large US company (their China operations). This project may be developed using Microsoft’s .NET framework, so it apears Josh was right when he said it would be a good idea if we learn how to use .NET for our 481 project (even though I was the only one who actually learned it in our group… :-)) I am currently in China on a tourist (L) visa. I need to get a fulltime work (Z) visa (which will enable me to get a work permit and resident permit). I will most likely need to take a trip to Hong Kong for a day or two in order to get the new visa - this is of course, if the government of PRC approves it. Keep your fingers crossed!
